Best Chicken tikka masala
I'm addicted to this stuff. Just wondering where you guys like to go for Chicken Tikka Masala. I've had it at Amdaba Dhaba or whatever it is on Westwood and Sepulveda...it was ok, but I liked the versions at Akbar (Marina) and All India Cafe (West LA) better.

Nobody's mentioned this one so far - The Gate of India on Sunset between La Brea and Fairfax has THE BEST chicken tikka masala in the city. The place doesn't look all that special, and a lot of their other dishes aren't that great, but if you are going specifically for chicken tikka masala, this is the place to be. I've had some of the others - Gill's, in particular, is not great. Kind of bland if you ask me.

Anybody ever try "BOMBAY" on Santa Monica Blvd near La Brea in Hollywood?
My buddy swears by it, he said it looks like a dump just when you sit down your served family style and the owners are very welcoming.
I heard the food comes out in these giant bowls and the price is low too, its on my list to try!

The best I've had is at Hurry Curry on Venice and Beethoven near Venice High School. They have great naan also. There is a Hurry Curry in Berkeley that is equally as good. My work ordered from a place called Shalimar, and they were actually on par with Hurry Curry.
I've also tried this dish at India's Oven (decent), Kimura Exotic Cuisine on Motor and Venice (Chicken is delicious, but the sauce itself is bland), the indian restaurant right next to Kimura (complete crap, and their naan is basically just flour and water; like cheap pizza dough), and also another place I can't name that delivers (similar to Kimura).
And I only think the place is called Kimura but it definitely says Exotic Cuisine. I've only been there once so it could be Shimura... not sure.

Lawrence of India!!! This place had the most consistent food and very reasonably priced. I posted a few months about if anybody knows "what happened to Lawrence of India" because it is gone and nobody knew what had happened. They were in a hole-in-the wall strip mall off of Culver Drive in Culver City area. Anybody remember this?

Amazingly enough (since Westwood is such a culinary death zone), the new Indian place called Bombay Bite, on Gayley between Kinross and Weyburn, is very good and makes a nice chicken tikka masala. They also do a good chicken saag. It's quite inexpensive, and they put out a nice crispy bread with some good sauces.
