I'm going on a week long kayaking/camping trip, and it's BYOB. The catch is that beer must be in cans. I know that some imported beers like Newcastle, Guinness, and Boddingtons are available in cans, but they seen a bit too heavy (although I do love them). I don't really care for Heineken, and IPA's are a bit too bitter and hoppy for me. (I think that's the right terminology, but I could be wrong!) Fat Tire would work, but I haven't actually seen the cans in stores in California yet.

It's for a group of 6, so I'm looking for something pretty universally appealing. Things everyone drinks pretty regularly: Anchor Steam, Red Tail, Newcastle, Fat Tire, Bohemia, Negro Modela.

I tried doing a board search, but "cans" brings up way too many responses, and the few relevant posts I did find were mostly New England based.

Any ideas? Thanks!

nope.

Oskar Blues would be your best bet I think.
Brooklyn does their lager in cans, but I don't know if they make it out there.

Maui Brewing Coconut Porter comes in cans as does their Big Swell IPA.
21st Amendment cans their watermelon wheat and IPA.
Oskar Blues has Dale's Pale Ale and Old Chub (Scottish Ale)

I have seen all of these brews at Bevmo in La Mesa (San Diego) at one time or another. If you go to the Bevmo website and set it to pick up at your local store, you can search by brewery to see if they have any of the above-listed beer.

Have a fun trip.
