Proof was awesome. Sat at the bar for a glass of wine (ended up having a few). The cheese and salume selections were great and the sweetbreads were awesome (order those twice). Love it... Best upscale restaurant I have been to in DC so far.

We were there for drinks and cheese the other night. Fiance was a little dissappointed with how few of their wines were available by the glass compared to their overall list, but I thought what we had was very good. I loved the cheese plate, they have a great selection. I can't wait to eat more things off the menu, I will put the sweetbreads on the top of that list. Proof draws a really interesting crowd. It wasn't what I expected at all, but not necessarily bad, just interesting.

Also put their gnocchi dish on your list...it was delicious when I had it a few months ago.

This makes no sense to me - they have nearly 50 wines by the glass available! Sure, they have many many more on the list, but that's true of any wine bar - they're not going to open a $1000 bottle so you can have a $250 glass of wine.

Maybe we had the wrong list then, we were in the bar section and their list did not have 50 by the glass... I will have to investigate that further because if they have more Fiance will be a lot happier.

The bar list is the correct list. Last time I was there they had 15+ each red and white selections, plus bubblies.

Yeah, I can't find it online, but definitely not 50... I wish I would have paid more attention. Their wine list says it has the by the glass selections on the first page, but it isn't there, at least I don't see it.

I think he will like going and getting a bottle more, but as we all wanted different things as we were out with friends it wasn't really a bottle night. But their selection of champagne by the glass was nice, they had some higher end choices, which I appreciated.

Yeah, the website used to have the glass list, but maybe they rotate it too quickly to make it worth updating the online list.

They have the automatic server behind the bar that holds at least 30 bottles, plus the bubblies, plus a few others by the glass that aren't in the machine. So it may not add up quite to 50, but it's certainly 35+.

Also, they have a terrific, knowledgeable bar staff, and the sommelier is fabulous.

I agree with you...we go there alot and the list they give you doesn't have anywhere near 50. If you want a huge high quality variety you have to go to Veritas...
