Enjoying this tonight after opening it two nights ago. Surprisingly for an inexpensive Argentinian wine, this wine really shines two days post-opening.

Has notes on palate of lead pencil, beef carpaccio, boysenberry, blackberry, a hint of vanilla from the oak.

Great little wine for $15 in CAN (prob $13 in US?) My house red for fall 2009?

The reserve 2006 bottling from same winery is really outstanding, but needs at least 5 years cellaring time before even BEGINNING to peak.

These have always been good values, imo, though I haven't had one in years. Lots of tannin on the reserve, always, too.

Thanks for the TN.

I've enjoyed it too...read about it first on this board, I think. You might also like the Pascual Toso Malbec, pretty nice value.

I had the 2006 (not reserve) on the weekend with a strip loin with chimichurri sauce, and it was superb, if a tad young, which actually was OK considering how aggressive chimichurri is. I think that I paid $13.95 here in Ontario. I agree - great buy, delicious, good choice for a 'house red'.
