and wondering where to catch a nice meal on Saturday night. Looking for a nice dinner for my husband and I, I'd like to keep cost below $150 if possible, we like wine, we enjoy all types of food, we will have a car but we aren't familiar with the area and will not want to drive too far, public transportation is okay and we don't mind walking. Anyway looking for a few recommendations. Any ideas?

My choice would probably be Jerry's Seafood in Lanham.

If you're staying in New Carrollton, are you willing to drive along the Beltway around 20 minutes for a destination? If so you should consider Old Town Alexandria in Virginia. Numerous decent restaurants -- much moreso that around New Carrollton. I would consider Restaurant Eve or A La Lucia. Good luck!

Old Town Alexandria is lovely, but it is 20 miles and at least 30 minutes travel time away from New Carrollton.

I second that. There isn't any place in New Carrollton thats decent to eat. I would just take Rt. 450 to Rt. 564 and go to Jerry's. Excellent seafood, and "the Crab Bomb" is it. The thing about Jerry's is they don't use any filler, just fresh back fin blue crab meat, some Old Bay and either lemon juice or a little mayo. Nothing else, no bread crumbs, no cracker crumbs, no onion or green peppers. Just good chunks of crab meat. High quality. You will have to wait, they do not take reservations. But if you enjoy seafood, especially crab, Jerry's is your place.

Thanks for the recs. I thought about staying in Alexandria - of well. The reviews of Jerry's are all outstanding and looks promising.
