Does anyone know if Epicure Imports is opening their warehouse this weekend?
I got an email from Epicure Imports about a sale they are running on their website. Typically, whenever I get that email, they also decide to open their warehouse in Van Nuys at 6900 Beck Ave to the public and it's a great sale. Does anyone know if they're having that sale this weekend?
Hello, glutton!
I try to follow them and often receive an email before they open their doors to the public. I have not heard anything...but am very interested.
I just called them (#818.985-9800) and they are NOT going to be open this weekend. However, he did say that they were trying to get something going for the end of September and would send out emails when they have a date. For anyone reading this who has never attended one of their public openings, it is a very fun event!
When we attended their last opening, they mentioned that they would open again around Thanksgiving and perhaps yet again in December...???? They did indicate a desire to have more openings than just once or twice a year as they had been doing.

You know, they are no longer a great deal. I got some ham there last time for $14 and the same ham at Jons Market was $8 today. I also felt very over charged on some other items. I got there pre sliced prcuitto, not parma for $10 a lb and the same stuff at jons & Albertsons is also $10. I have no desire to return, even some of the wines were equal to retail. I was going to buy dried blueberries and some nuts, they were cheaper at Trader Joes and Cost Co. No need to return.

I would agree that not everything is a great deal. However, I did find plenty of deals on their cheese (but not the butter). And I found plenty of deals in the oil and vinegar section. The dried fruits section also had plenty of good deals on things like currants and the like. I wouldn't write it off completely...

I found the dried fruit so over priced and the pakaging of the dried fruits was kind of cheap, just my opinion. Cost CO and Trader Joe's seem like a better deal.
