When you say "Hartford Airport" do you mean Bradley International in Windsor Locks or Brainard in Hartford?

Hands down, the best choice is the Skyline Restaurant.

Food, basic American and Italian. Superb Happy Hour grub on Thursday and Fridays.

Friendly bar too.

Try the eggplant. If you are there for lunch, check out the salad bar buffet, if only for the pizza.

I would have to disagree completely about the Skyline. I have never had a more horrible dining experience than at the Skyline. The food was cafeteria-esque, the atmosphere dated and dirty and the service just terrible.

There is not much in the direct area of the airport, but if you are willing to venture away from the area, there are some great spots.

2 Exits up 91, there is La Notte in East Windsor. You drive into an industrial park, but the food is great with a nice bar.
That same exit, just up rte 5 is Jonathan Pasco's. Friendly Bar and good food.

If you want to venture up Rte 20, you can turn onto Rte 10 and hit the Cambridge House Brew Pub. Good pub food and great beer made on sight.

In Windsor, about 15 minutes away, is the new Vitos on the Water. Just opened last week and it is wonderful. Great atmosphere, big wine list, great pasta.

I completely agree about having a bad experience at Skyline. The area in general is terrible for food unless you want to go to a chain. Otherwise, you're better off taking a 10 minute drive and going somewhere good like those mentioned by Tinkerbelldee. Pacifica is good also if you want sushi/japanese & that is relatively close to the airport in Suffield. I''d go to Hartford for dinner-there are more choices, a lot of excellent place & it's less than a 15 minute drive from BDL.
