Good food near Duomo in Milan
I will be staying near the Duomo in Milan and would like suggestions for great food in authentic restaurants. I prefer no tourist spots. I want to eat the food that the local people eat when they want a nice pasta and meats, etc. Thanks.
Have a search on this board. There is a lot about places to eat in Milan. Just avoid eating in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and around Corso Vittorio Emanuele which are both right around the Duomo. You should also stay away from spots right along Via Dante and around the castle. Beyond that, most places will be catering to local folks. The center of Milan is small and public transport is good. A 10 min walk or a 10 minute train ride and you'll be off the so-called beaten path.

I just posted about my favorite spot--- Il Salernitano. it's a family place that's been around about 40 years and it's on the corner of via Tadino and via Vitruvio, closer to the station than the Duomo, but I walk between them all the time. I have seen a tourist or two inthere, but mostly it is business men and neighborhood folks.
