SIMON'S CAFE/SHERMAN OAKS

After reading all those good reviews about Simon's Cafe on Sepulveda Blvd., South of Ventura Blvd., I decided to try it today for lunch. You guys were right. The food was superb. I had a chicken tagine with dried fruits, and it was incredible. For dessert I had the homemade baklava, and that was great, too! And Simon, the owner, is the nicest guy. Thanks for your recommendations!

  1. I'm glad that you enjoyed the experience! We think that he's a wonderful man and my husband adores the tagines. It's important that he be successful so we can continue to enjoy dining there!

        Still have not been, even though Shimon has been here for around 4 or so years, and prior to that at Encino's Plaza de oro.
        One of these days! It is surely my kind of food.

      2. I forgot to mention that my friend had a dish called cous-cous (sp?) royale, and said it was "out of this world." Give this restaurant a try. The guy needs the business, and the food is delicious. It's just across the street from Whole Foods Market.

          cous-cous royale is indeed mind blowing at Simon's. I'm not kidding. Also, the lamb tagine!
