Casual Restaurant in Quarter

  • 6

I am planning a weekend for a group of friends, in which everyone has a different opinion on how much is okay to spend for dinner. Therefore, I would like to do on fancier dinner (I think we are doing Herbsaint) and one casual dinner. I am looking for a casual place in the Quarter, where entrees are below $20. Nothing as casual as Coop's or Port of Call, and somewhere that has a good atmosphere. Also, what is the best place for Po-Boy's in the Quarter?

  1. 'Eat' is a good place to try on the corner of Dauphine and Dumaine plus it is BYOB since they don't have a liquor license. FYI the pork tenderloin with mac and cheese is fabulous!

    1. Less than $20 an entree pretty much leaves you with places like Coop's. Riomarseafood.com (warehouse district) has entres $19-22. Redfish Grill and Bacco offer several choices around $20. Check their menus to see if any of these interest your group. Johnny's for poor boys.

      1. How about Remoulade's on Bourbon.
        Good food, not too expensive

        1. Johhny's po-boys in the FQ is pretty danged good. Sorry, I'm not link-friendly but I'm sure if you google it....

          1. I second EAT. Nice clean atmosphere and you can pick up a six pack of beers down the street. Or make it nice a bring a good bottle of wine. The burgers are excellent also.
