Great Italian with a patio downtown

Hello!

I am going to be celebrating my birthday on Sept 20 by seeing Spamalot at the Cannon. Afterwards we are meeting friends.

I'd like to go to a GREAT Italian resto with an outdoor patio (smoker!) either near the theatre or between there and Union Station.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Thirty Five Elm is just up the street and around the corner. Italian. Two patios. Click on the placelink for a map.

Biagio or Tutti Matti might work. Biagio, in particular, has a lovely patio.

I second the warning about Vagabondo - one of the worst meals I've had.

Hi Cat. Love Tutti Matti, but was there last night and although they have all the doors open, they don't have a patio - otherwise I would have suggested it. I must check out Biagio - I've never even heard of it!

Terroni on Queen has a patio in the back but I think its partially covered so I'm not sure if they allow smoking.

Terroni on Adelaide (walking distance from the Canon) has a huge patio, though I don't know if they allow smoking on it.

          Enjoy Spamalot, it's hysterical.

Thanks TorontoJo, I've been to the Terroni on Adelaide numerous times, but I didn't know they had a patio!

Hi! Suprisingly, there aren't a whole many Italian choices in that area that also have a patio. I am thinking maybe Romagna Mia on Front, but I can't remember if they put tables outside or not in the summer - can anyone help me out here?

The only other option I can think of is Vagabondo on Wellington, which is nearby too. I know they have a nice patio, I just can't vouch for the food there, because I've never been.

The food at Vagabondo is pretty bland and very very overpriced. Honestly there are very few Italian places with patios.

Hot House Cafe has a huge menu that generally pleases every palate - so maybe try there?

Or try Mercatto on Toronto street - excellent food and a small patio out front.
