I read a review on it on either a BBQ blog or Serious Eats that basically said the smoked foods were the last thought on the menu that the chefs put together as it's BBQ and other food all under one spot. Ofcourse everyone should let their own tounge decide for themselves when it comes to bbq.

Lucky Mojos is just a fun place to go, the food isn't spectacular, but it is good (yes even the sushi). The best dishes are the BBQ and Cajun/Creole but like I said this is not a destination place. If you happen to be in Queens and want to drink some Abita beer from the tap and have some decent comfort food it hits the spot.

Hey fellow PH :) Are you looking specifically for BBQ in the QZ or more so just info on the newest spot?
My personal fav for BBQ in the Ny area is and will always be The Ranger Texas BBQ in Jackson Heights which is in the back of Legends Bar on 34th ave I believe. They do great Eastern Carolina Pork, great Beef Ribs and Brisket, good sides (limited though) They put sliced apples in their Potato Salad which is a nice touch too.
As an appetizer my fav is their deep fried beef short rib flautas. Smoked short ribs shredded, sauces and rolled in tortillas and deep fried. Yum.
They also have some of the best no bean texas chili, myself or my girl have ever had. It's a no frills place with lots of beer ontop thanks to the bar and it's a shame they don't get as much love in blogs or reviews on websites like all the glorified smokehouses in the city.
