Talia's Steakhouse

Looking to try it out as an alternative to PG, Le Carne Grill or Le Marais. Any comments would be welcome.

I happen to be Talia's fan. I love the food, the outdoor cafe, the ambiance, the live band, the inexpensive options of Talia's To Go, the fact that the kitchen open until midnight, the that it is one of the kosher restaurants that open on Saturday night and fact that you get a street parking easily. Yes, sometimes you have to wait for your order for 30 minitues. Big deal! it is a fine dining spot - not a fast food establishment. Enjoy a mixed drink in the meantime. Enjoy a roll of sushi until the main dish will arrives. The prices are very reasonable for a kosher restaurant - where can you get a glatt kosher juicy, tasty burger with great fries and salad for about $15? Yes, and at the same time enjoy the outdoor cafe and the the live band...In any event the service has been changed --- much much more better than a year ago.

Don't do it--the food is terrible, although I was there once a shabbos for an event and it wasn't terrible. But I gave it a shot not on Shabbos and it was still bad.I wish it were good as I live nearby. I don't understand how they can still be in business. If you want to try something different try Mike's Bistro on W 72nd.

Good alternatives include Mike's Bistro and Darna, though service at the latter can be spotty. I also like Abigail's though it is in a dungeon. Talia's in my view is not worth the aggravation.

You can look for previous comment threads, as there are a bunch.

I will never go back to Talia's after several very negative experiences, and I am not a particularly fussy customer.

I also wouldn't put it in the same category as PG or La Carne. Even if it were perfectly executed, it's not aiming to be that fancy a restaurant.

Yes, I agree. It's at the level of a Wolf & Lamb.

I actually happen to enjoy talia's, but even with that the service is HORRIBLE. If that's soemthing that will bother you, and for me it depends on my mood, sometimes I just find it entertaining, don't go.

It's pretty typical of the worse wait staff at a place like grill point, or I don't know if anyone remembers this, all the wait staff from the no longer exsisting strawberry. But when you're getting $8 shwarma, you kinda don't expect the better service
