Hi folks -- looking for a good wine shop near these locations before boarding a ferry to cape cod. Any suggestions?

Brix at 105 Broad St is close to where you catch the ferry.

Second Brix. I also like Federal Wine (closer to Faneuil Hall) a lot.

Brix is newer and shinier. Federal doesn't look like much, but head downstairs into their wine dungeon and they have a really good selection.

Both are pretty heavy on French and Italian bottles, both have incredibly knowledgeable staff. The folks at Federal are perhaps a little longer-winded and more pretentious, but they really, really know their stuff.

Second Federal. Kinda an institution. They will not mislead you!

Brix is also a great store, but a little slicker.

Third Federal - they constantly have free tastings of all sorts - http://www.federalwine.com/
All kinds of people crammed in the basement drinking good wine/booze is sort of a unique Boston experience.

If you're taking the High Speed Ferry to Provincetown, you'll find that the prices at Big Vin's or Perry's on the other end are often either about the same as Boston or lower. It might be an option if you don't want the extra weight.
