Turtle and gator in Miami?

I am wondering where in Miami I can find turtle and gator, both to purchase and cook at home or to eat at a restaurant.

The only place I have heard of that has gator is the BBQ joint down 8th by the Everglades, but I have not checked it out yet. Any good?

There is a small place called Coopertown west of the Florida Turnpike down Tamiami Trail (SW 8 St.) I had the gator there once and it was good. As far as I know The Pit BBQ (the bbq joint on SW 8th st entering The Everglades) does not serve gator...they do have frog legs through.

Try Delaware Chicken Farm in Hollywood for gator to cook. I'd call ahead to confirm availability but their website says they carry gator tail, ribs and tenderloin.

Delaware Chicken had an ad in the Sun-Sentinel Food section for Alligator meat in 1 lb. packages for $9.99

We used to buy fresh turtle meat there as well, but it's been years since I've seen it available.
