STL- Late night eats near the Pageant Theater??

l
lrstl Aug 26, 2008 06:10 PM

My husband is working a project near the Pageant Theater from 6pm-6am 7 nights a week for while. They can't leave the job site for long but one guy can run out for take-out. These guys are eating their lunch around midnight but could go a little earlier if necessary.

Any ideas of places in that general area that would either deliver to the job site or allow a call in or pick up??

Go to the Halo Bar in the front of the Pageant. They have take-out menus for all the nearlby places that deliver.

Thanks. He didn't have time before work tonight to stop by but he plans to leave a little early and run in there tomorrow night. Can't really be seen walking into a bar while on the clock, can he?

Just walk down the street or cross the street. You probably have 30 choices or so...

Not really much help.... he needs really needs delivery to a job site.... but thanks - he couldn't see the dozens of restaurants in a couple block.
My question was specific - places in the general area that might be willing to deliver and/or allow for a late night call for a quick run in to pick up the food.

In their "free" time of the drive to and from 12 hour shifts, they are unable to grab take out menus.....LOL

I don't know about the delivery, but I was answering your question.I am fairly sure that every single restaurant in the loop without exception will accept a late night carry out.
I also believe that 90+% of the places will have web sites and menus on the web if you look.

If you want my favorites or what I hear is good-

          Ciceros- I like their Pizza
I hear Pi is good but have not been
Blueberry Hill- Good burgers and lots of other stuff
          Riddles- Delicious

I can answer that many of the places stop serving food at about 10. That's not late night, in this case. They were turned down for take out at least 2 places that they walked into so far. They get about 30 minutes to eat and they have to eat in shifts- they don't have time to walk 3 blocks.

I already LOOKED on-line. Many places either don't have websites or the websites don't have menus listed. Honestly, if you don't have anything to contribute to a thread....just don't.

Soooo, if anyone knows of any restaurants on the Delmar loop that serve food LATE (midnight), that would do take out and/or delivery....please let me know.

Hey, lrstl, you have made some nice contributions in the past but you are WAY too frustrated and lashing out. FOTD was contributing to the thread -- there are websites for cicero and riddles (i got them immediately) and blueberry hill is a classic. Maybe they can't meet the specific needs of your husband -- few places in St. Louis could -- but don't get nasty.

I had a long reply but have chosen to just respond with:

                Never mind.

Taco Bell is open all the time. Jimmy Johns and Qdoba both serve food past midnight, a few other places serve up until midnight on Fri/Sat....

Lrstl, I work late nights in Clayton and I tell ya, finding anything in U City or Clayton past 10:00 to deliver is extremely difficult. I feel for your hubby

Peace out, lrstl. You know, after living in L.A. for so long, what amazes me when I visit StL is that the grocery stores aren't all open 24/7. My goodness, you want some latenight beverages and snacks and the Schnuck's closes at 10?!? WTF! Now I have to go searching for some drugstore or pay convenience store markups...

Thanks. Last night the folks that own the Chinese Noodle Cafe said that although the chef walks out the door at 9:30 or 10:30 depending on the night of the week... "Mama" could whip something up for them so it was hot later than that. I thought that was very kind of the owner. The mother said she'd be happy to do that.

So note to others.... though the Chinese Noodle Cafe closes at 10:30 on Fri/Sat, it sounds like you have to order your food 30 minutes earlier because the chef leaves immediately at closing time!

The night menu is available until midnight every night except Sunday, when the kitchen closes at 11 pm.
