Catering or Banquet in Beverly Hills

Hello fellow Chowhounds,

I work for the city of Beverly Hills and I have been entrusted to find us a location for our annual holiday party in early December. It's going to be for 55-60 people and will be a lunch event. One very important item that I should mention is that the venue MUST be located in the city of Beverly Hills proper. In these trying economic times, it's important for us to recycle that money in the community. :)

I'm trying to keep the cost to around $25 per person including food, tax and service charge to stay within my penurious budget handed down from above. A little wiggle room is fine, but I don't think it can be any more than $30 p/p. To date, I've contacted McCormick & Schmick's as well as Prego Ristorante and all of them have been a little over on the budget.

Also, any recommendations on restaurants/services that cater and do a good job would be very appreciated. If not at a garden, we can always have it delivered here to our courtyard.

Help me, please! If not for me, at least do it for the dog.

you could bring in a variety of salads (ask them to do large group portions maybe at a discount) from Greenleaf Chop Shop.

Frida's will do group catering at a decent rate.

I will call Frida's to see what they got for me. They do have a large party menu, but do you think they'll be able to accomodate 60 people, Emme?

i'd think they would if you'd order ahead and let them know so they can plan accordingly.

Seems more like a market, no, RicRios?

Organic market yes, plus organic deli to go.

Have you tried Sandbags on LSM? They have decent sandwiches and sides, with a large variety - they can probably work within your budget.

Sandbags is no more...Pizza Rustica (?) went into that spot. Too bad, I enjoyed Sandbags every once in a while.

They don't really have a banquet facility there, woofer. Thanks for the heads up though.
