Canning supplies in Tucson?

cholmgren Aug 26, 2008 10:56 AM

Does anyone know of a good source of glass canning jars and lids in Tucson? Every so often I can find Ball jars at Target, but only pint and half-pint sizes, and I'm looking for quart jars. I would just order some online, but I need them in the next couple of days to pack and send off some goodies for a friend's birthday.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, booklegger and desertsun! I found just what I needed at the little Ace on Euclid and 9th. Let the canning begin. :)

I've rarely seen jars at Target. Wal-Mart usually has a good selection of jars and canning equipment, thru most of the year, not just in summer. Booklegger had another good suggestion with Ace; that would be my backup spot, and again, they carry things year-round. The big one on 22nd would be my first stop, as they've got a great kitchen section.

I've usually been able to find them at Ace Hardware. You might start by calling around to the various Ace stores and seeing how many you can find.
