Restaurants near Casbah, SD

Hi-
I will be at a show at the Casbah Saturday night. Wondering what the can't miss/moderately priced restaurants in the area are? Also wondering what a good place to watch a college football game would be?
Please help...

Starlite. The Casbah owner is one of the partners that owns the place.

Yep - go there for the food and vibe (not football).

Each of the Big Ten alumi associations meet at different sports bars in the city. Players in Clairmont Mesa is MSU and PB Bar and Grill is UM. OSU meets next door to PBB&G.

The food and happy hour deals at PBB&G are excellent, but I would imagine it is pretty good at any of them or the associations would not continue to meet at their particular location.

I think you meant that OSU meets at Moondoggies next door.

Starlite is a new place nearby that has been getting quite a bit of love lately. I still haven't been but I haven't heard anything bad yet.

Blue Water Grill has some of the best fish sandwiches around and good reasonably priced fish entrees.

re College Football: There's not really anything around there that I know of, but if you venture north into the Clairemont Mesa area there's a couple of good options. Players is probably the largest sports bar in town and a fun place to watch games. I think quite a few people go to the Bullpen Bar & Grill too.

Kristy's MVP is in Point Loma (about 10 minutes up Pacific Hwy from Little Italy) and has tons of TV's and most sports packages. The food was ordinary, but it was a great place to watch a game.

Were you planning on watching a particular game, or just whatever game was being broadcast locally? Waterfront would work for you if you are OK with what is on here, but if you want a place with the ESPN Game Plan, you will need to go further afield.

The Casbah is within walking distance of Little Italy/India St. A quick search of the board will give you many opitions. For football watching, the Waterfront on Kettner should suit your tastes. It has good burgers, copious cheap beer and decent people watching.
