Casual Falmouth-area dinner

Getting off the ferry in Woods Hole at 7pm on Wed and want a casual dinner before driving back to Boston. Lobster and seafood would be great, but don't want a long wait. Any good options.

  1. Nope. There's bound to be a wait at any place that's decent.

A bit of self help goes a long way. Searching this site is quite easy:

    1. I take it you are are coming from the Vineyard on Wednesday night? If so, a couple of thoughts. It's actually really quiet this week on MV and in Woods Hole as kids are starting school/ college. There's not going to be a big problem getting food on a Wednesday evening. So here's my 2 cents if you are leaving MV. Leave early for the ferry and get to The Net Result before they close at 6 (assuming you are leaving from Vineyard Haven, but you can make this work if you are leaving from Oak Bluffs, too.) Pick up all kinds of goodies. Bring a bottle of wine with you. (They sell beer and wine on the ferry and you are not supposed to drink your own, but it's no big deal, especially if you eat/drink outside and don't make a big deal about it.) Put everything in your cooler. If you are hungry and the weather is cooperative, you can have a lovely meal on the deck of the ferry, as you say good-bye to the Vineyard and watch the sun go down. If you want to wait, you can find all kinds of nice places to picnic in Woods Hole, although parking can be an issue. Woods Hole is not known for great choices for dinner, unfortunately.

      1. Captain Kidd or Shuckers in WH would be good bets
