Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Greater Chicago

Breakfast Near Wrigley Field?

Four of us heading out from Los Angeles, (3 of the 4 have been before) to eat, drink and take in a Cubs and Bears game and just soak up your super fun city! No fancy joints, (we have plenty of those here and 2 of us are in the wine business and have had a bunch of "fancy" dinners as of late) looking for chill, tasty joints and if they serve booze it is a serious bonus.
I'll take suggestions for anything but one thing I really need is a good breakfast joint near Wrigley to get a good base going before the Cubs Cardinals game.
Thanks in advance!

    1. My favorites in the area are all huddled together in Roscoe Village. It's a little over a mile from Wrigley. May be farther than you want but there are several great places: Orange, Kitsch'n, Victory's Banner.

          Ferret,
Kitsch'n looks perfect! Full bar is a big plus for this group, thanks so much.

          • It's about a half-mile trek from Wrigley, but if you're lacking gemuetlichkeit in LA and are looking for breakfast Viennese style, you'll find it here:

              1. O'Donavans has a good brunch, great bloody mary's, and lots of patio space. On Irving Park around Lincoln Ave.

                  1. I would check out Uncommon Ground. They have great breakfast, laid back in there, and they have drinks. It's nice in there, and a different vibe than other spots in Wrigley. Check them out:

I do agree that Uncommon Ground has excellent fare. And much closer to Wrigley.

                        • If you are interested in a 50s style diner, go to Salt & Pepper, less than a block from Wrigley (Beer/Wine avail.). This is a nice diner, not a greasy spoon. If you want interesting and different, go to the original location of Orange (No alcohol/BYO), located about four blocks South of Wrigley. If you want great cinnamon rolls to coat the stomach and Swedish pancakes, head to Ann Sather, about four blocks South of Wrigley.

                          1. so, where did you go?
