Grape Leaves - Mediteranean @ Tanforan
What a gem of all places inside a mall !
I had the special Gyros plate and this meal blew my mind and taste buds. After tasting the sample meat I thought this place was worth a try. It is a GEM and I consider this place one of my biggest find recently along with the Chai Thai noodles .
The meat was tender and full of flavor. I also saw other kebabs and they looked awesome. It was succulent, tender and all the spices comes through. WOW !
The rice was a revelation. It was very colorful and full of flavor. Every last morsel was perfect.
Plenty of sliced onions and thinly sliced tomatoes that adds to the already excellent meal.
The salad was mix of cucumbers, tomatos and bits of greens (not sure what) with a perfectly seasoned dressing. Just awesome combination.
The white yogurt sauce was also quite good.
The pita bread was decent.
The portion was huge and both of us had our fill for a mere $7.99
We are not too enamored with the mall itself but would come just for this place.
Has anyone tried this place yet ? What else is good here ?

Han, glad to hear from you again! I haven't tried this place but I will, thanks for the heads up...We have spoken on the board about the Vietnamese place upstairs (up escalator?!) at the food court...they import a special lacey covering for their Imperial rolls...very different...this is turning into quite a foodcourt....the Mall itself, even with the redo is nothing special...maybe if they ever open the movie theaters there it might be more of a destination....anyone know when/if that will happen?

Derek,
The all-digital Century 20 at Tanforan has been open since April 18. We have been going there almost exclusively ever since. It's a wonderful theater with great, clean digital and audio and stadium seating and, as you said, you can get pretty good fast food at the food court before or after the movie.
