Authentic Bun Cha in MSP?

I've ordered it at several places including Trieu Chau and Ngon and they brought out a spring roll without the wrap. Not what I was expecting. Something like in Bourdain, you know soup like. Holla at me

What you were being served was a dish called Bun Cha Gio, which is a South Vietnamese dish. The one you are after is called Bun Cha Hanoi around here and the only place that serves it is Saigon on University in St Paul. If you have eaten the dish in Vietnam or are hoping for a vicarious thrill ala No Reservations, you will be disappointed. The local version does not resemble either in atmostphere, or authentic preparation the items you saw on TV or perhaps ate in Vietnam. However, your ingredients will be served separately and you can make your own masterpiece.

    Best of luck.
