looking for a slow cooker Pot roast recipe

Hi all-

I just bought a beautiful 3.50 lb pot roast and want to use my slow cooker due to summer heat i am avoiding the oven.

I don't want to add any funly cream based soups to the slow cooker just want a great idea of seasonings and how long i cook for in the slow cooker.

  1. The recipe for Sunday Pot Roast Dinner has been popular at my house. I picked up the recipe from the Williams-Sonoma site, but it's included on the KitchenAid site as well.

This is the link to the recipe book; click to page 7 for the recipe: http://www.kitchenaid.com/assets/pdfs...

wow! thanks it looks great. do you think if i cook on high for 4-5 hrs that would work as well?

If you want to skip the can of tomato soup (I would), pour in a bottle of beer. Dark beer is better.

    2. My personal fave crock pot roast recipe, and the easiest:

To the pot roast add: One bottle of beer (minus a swig for the cook), and 2/3 Cup your fave BBQ sauce.

This makes a delicious gravy, and the beef goes well on buttered noodles or as a sandwich.

sounds great unfortunately i already have mine going used 1/2 med onion, carrot, potatoes, tomato soup, chix broth, balsmaic vinegar, carrots, celery and mustard we shall see what happens.

      2. This is one of my go to recipes for pot roast. You can easily brown the meat on the stove top and then cook it in your slow cooker. Leftovers freeze beautifully in the freezer.
