Soul food in St. Petersburg

Does anyone have recommendations for authentic southern/soul food in St. Petersburg?
I'm looking for fried chicken, collards, okra, sweet potato pie, etc.
I know about Atwater's but am looking to broaden my range. My favorite was Doe-Al's when they were around.

thanks!

I have to suggest the new place on Central Ave, Grillsides. It's tucked in next door to Lonni's and Table. Had delicious shrimp & grits, FRIED CHICKEN TO DIE FOR, meatloaf that was outstanding and great collards and navy bean soup. And yes, that was two people, one trip. And it's not fussied-up southern food, like Savannah's...it's just fried chicken, not drizzled with blue cheese whatnot. There was a review a few weeks ago in the St Pete Times with more info...

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to give it a try. It sounds great. I know what you mean about Savannah's. It's ok for what it is but it isn't what I really want.

You've been looking for a long time then! I never was able to find a substitute to Doe-Al's...
I hope others have had better luck and can pass it along!
