CT- RI Going up Putnam CT 44 to ClocesterRI
Where are the clam and lobster shacks, any clam chowders worthwhile and need my steamers and belly clams, so tell me where to go, We be around wed-sat and celebrating 5th anniversary so one fancier romantic place would be great. We are simple and not fancy but want the best food this area has to offer. I want to milk a cow myself, eat clams and have great food and fun so....where do you do any fairs going on? Any farms that serve dinner or lunch in the fields. I am willing to spend a little bit too be able to surprise my husband for our anniversary and have a special romantic dinner on the farm in the field.
Tell me your secrets please, we have never been and don't want to waste any time because we want to use our time seeing and eatinng our way in Rhode Island. Blackstone Valley is where will be for 4 days , don 't mind traveling to far but not that far. we want to relax also quite a bit.
Anyonw that helps is my Hero, my Queen and King. Also any places that smoke there own fish and best places to get maple syrup, sugar etc. I can 't wait to hear your secrets and your treats. Thank you very very much from a couple who has been given a horrible deck of cards and now need happiness and have full bellies for a few days.also any jerky made around here?
In God's name we bless you and hope you have a relaxing day. Any great supermarkets nearbyand bakeries? Thank you in advance for your help!

Why do you keep making so many threads? You've gotten tons of replies for your trip. There are no "secrets". You're probably going to be very disappointed in your trip if you're only using Chowhound to find whatever it is you're looking for.
Clam and Lobster shacks are on the OTHER side of RI, you know, the side where the water is. Jamestown, Narraganset, Newport, which is too far for you to travel.
We don't really have farms in RI like that either Milking cows, dinner on farms.. is more CT like.
Maple Syrup and Honey - Again, I am from RI and find this stuff in CT. Sometimes I get it from East Greenwich but again too far.
Putnam on 44 near RI.... There's an icecream/food shack right near the RI line but it's Hershey Icecream, not that 'farm" or "home made" thing you're looking for. Everything else is Mcdonalds, Wendys, the usual.
Supermarkets? Nothing special. The usual chains with the usual junk food. I shop at Whole Foods..but I'm sure you have that wherever you're from.
