Last night we had a wonderful dinner at Quercy. I wasn't in the mood for anything heavy so I ordered an artichoke, and roasted leeks, beets and french lentils on a bed of greens. Those are really 3 separate salads that the waitress kindly allowed me to order as 1 entree. It was all delicious, along with a glass of wine. My husband got the whole trout with shitake mushrooms and he enjoyed that as well. He also ordered the Vichysoise, which, though not prepared. in a traditional manner, was still quite good. There were no other people in there while we were eating, though 2 people came in right when we were leaving, and there was another table that left soon after we arrived. Anyone else enjoy Quercy?

have always enjoyed the place and could never understand why it has never really taken off (the room is not as warm as it should be, I suppose). you should head back as it gets cooler as my favorites have always been their heartier fare such as a great cassoulet and, without a doubt, the best steak au poive in the neighborhood.

Spouse and I just had another very well-prepared and delicious meal at the always strangely empty Quercy. We had just watched Julie & Julia and found it a suitable finish to that film.

The prix-fixe dinner is $22 with lots of appetizer, entree, and dessert choices -- nearly the whole menu. Also, you can choose just two servings (e.g. entree & dessert) for $19 or even just an appetizer and dessert for (I think) $14.

I started with an avocado and argula cold soup. It was delicate and refreshing. Spouse started with the asparagus vinaigrette, which he enjoyed so much he forgot to share with me. My entree was skate, sauteed in plenty of butter, with capers and two sides: perfect green beans and pan-fried potatoes. His entree was roast lamb, delightfully crisped, with the same sides. My only criticism is that not much attention was paid to presentation, but, then again, the food certainly had a homey feel. For dessert we had gateau chocolat and poires belle helene, both made in the restaurant and both served with a toothsome chocolate sauce. Our server was friendly and professional, and she got the rhythm of our meal just right.

Why is this restaurant so empty?? It is recommended in the 2009 Guide Michelin. Its closure would be a sad loss.

It's empty because some of us have had rude treatment and mediocre food at times. Hard to explain because, at other times, and by report from friends, the food can be quite good and the management welcoming and gracious. I just decided it wasnt worth the gamble.
