Finding certain ethnic food in NYC

I love going to NYC for the unsurpassed variety of ethnic food. I am planning a trip soon and am seeking recommendations for the following specific types: Sub-Saharan African (other than Ethiopian), Albanian and Uighur. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

If you don't mind going to Brooklyn, Abistro (Senegalese/Nigerian) and Madiba (South African) are both good. Keur Sokhna in Harlem is Senegalese, and is so-so.

I can't give you any specific recs for Uighur or Albanian, but I know where you would find a few of them - Flushing, Queens for Uighur, and the area on Staten Island near the ferry terminal for Albanian.

enkidu - im also making a similar list, and someone on here had mentioned that Gurra Cafe is good Albanian. I have the address listed as 2325 Arthur Ave, Bronx. I havent tried it so cant vouch for it.

Another good place was Florence's (Ghanaian and Ivorian), which recently closed. However, some chowhounds have reported that Florence's may be re-opening in the near future at a nearby location.

There are also several Senegalese restaurants on 116th street between 7th ave (Malcom X Blvd) and 5th ave, with a few more extending onto neighboring areas of 7th ave itself.

You can find more places, serving Ghanaian, Nigerian, and Senegalese (as well as South African) in the Bronx and Brooklyn. Try searching and posting on the Outer Boroughs board.

Xai Xai for South African Wine Bar and small plates...the owners of that bar just opened a new South African restaurant called Braii with antelope as a speciality. Both are located on 51th between 8th and 9th.
