Finding certain ethnic food in NYC
I love going to NYC for the unsurpassed variety of ethnic food. I am planning a trip soon and am seeking recommendations for the following specific types: Sub-Saharan African (other than Ethiopian), Albanian and Uighur. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

If you don't mind going to Brooklyn, Abistro (Senegalese/Nigerian) and Madiba (South African) are both good. Keur Sokhna in Harlem is Senegalese, and is so-so.
I can't give you any specific recs for Uighur or Albanian, but I know where you would find a few of them - Flushing, Queens for Uighur, and the area on Staten Island near the ferry terminal for Albanian.

For West African, see

http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/322376There are also several Senegalese restaurants on 116th street between 7th ave (Malcom X Blvd) and 5th ave, with a few more extending onto neighboring areas of 7th ave itself.
You can find more places, serving Ghanaian, Nigerian, and Senegalese (as well as South African) in the Bronx and Brooklyn. Try searching and posting on the Outer Boroughs board.
