Restaurants in walking distance of San Diego convention center?
I'm going to be in San Diego for a conference next week, and although I've had some great meals there before (Mr A's, McCormick & Schmick's, Fleming's...), I'd love some more suggestions. I may be on my own some of the nights, if coworkers have other plans. Thx!

re: DougOLis
I had a great meal at Candela's on Wednesday evening. I hadn't been before and thought the food (and service) were terrific.
I am also a big fan of Urban Bar's pizza. The place is bare bones, as is the menu (pizza and one salad). That said, the pizza is amazing, the salad is wonderful, the wine list is not half bad and the place is fun. Plus, the servers take great pride in the pizzas they serve, and I always like a place in which the staff are genuinely proud of the good food.
P.S. Our server at Candela's told us he'd eaten what my guest ordered, and loved it!

re: lawyerbriefs
Hey lawyerbriefs..
Urban is some of the best pizza I have ever had..that includes the pizza pies in Jersey and NY.
Candela's is lovely...
McCormicks has one of the best happy hour menu at the Omni if the Padres aren't playing and Donovan's moved into the Gaslamp.
Cowboy Star and Oceanaire are always good.

I imagine you will soon be flooded with answers, as downtown San Diego is home to a lot of good restaurants. But I'll throw out a rec for one of my favorite Italian places downtown. Bella Luna, 748 5th Ave. I've always had good meals there. Nice atmosphere, sit outside with a glass of wine and nice pasta and people watch. Have a good time.
