    1. Follow-up on Gulfstream (Century City)...
Operated by the Houston's people and is really like a Houston's II...limited menu with relatively boring sides. However, the food was very good and the fish very fresh. Waitstaff is extremely attentive and a step up from H's.
Not mind blowing but a nice change.

Can you say whether they take reservations? I certainly hope so. Houstons, across the plaza, is a very decent place, marred terribly by the manner in which their customers are abused by a no-reservations policy and made to sit or loiter for 30 minutes to an hour on average on weekends. This "works" for them in that their table turn-over is almost immediate, but it earns them enormous ill will by those who do not welcome such treatment. IMHO, this is a policy that would only survive in a corporate ownership setting. And I am absolutely confident that not one of their executives would themselves put up with being treated in that manner.

          G'stream does take reservations.

      2. We just had a really negative service experience at Gulfstream. I've got to say off the bat that the food was quite good. But the service was offensive. The server insisted on taking our order even though we told her only half the party was ready to order. Then they brought the main course right on top of the soup. I mean, why even bother ordering it if they don't give you time to eat it? If you're looking for good service, try somewhere else.
