Sunday night dinner in Pasadena

We need to meet friends for a quiet dinner on Sunday night- nice, but not too expensive. We will be driving from Ontario and they from West Hollywood. Can you please help us find a place to meet? Asian, sushi, something nice?

Mike and Anne's in South Pasadena. The outdoor, patio seating during the recent, beautiful evenings is worth it alone.

Daisy Mint - Asian fusion, excellent food, good service, shouldn't be too busy on Sunday night.
Central Park Cafe on Fair Oaks - more excellent food, reasonable prices - again, good for a Sunday night.

I keep wanting to try that place. Daisy Mint, that is. Are there specific dishes you recommend there?

Central Park is also a good suggestion for quiet and not too expensive on a Sunday, though it is not Asian or sushi.

Daisy Mint is excellent. The curry dishes are excellent, as is the Salmon with Cilatnro Sauce. We've been there three times and always had a great meal.

This last Sunday I was in South Pasadena and we went to 750 ml. It twas veddy good.

It's the antithesis of "quiet" though, at least if there are more than 2 people in the restaurant. Those tile walls and cement floors make it impossible to have a conversation.

You're right, the food is good, but there isn't nearly enough of it on the plate. Both times I've gone there (once w/the old menu, once with the new) I was really shocked at the minimalist portions. I'm not one who demands gargantuan, Buca di Beppo-sized portions, but for some of the things it really borders on ridiculous.

I ate outside and it was definitely quiet. However, I cannot argue with you about the portion sizes. Some things were fine, but the fish portions were silly small.
