Where can I buy pre made sofrito?

If you buy Goya, try to get the frozen, in a tub. It's much better than the jarred version.

thanks for the heads up! I've got a very quick (emphasis on quick) black bean & ricotta enchilada dish that uses sofrito, but I didn't care much for the jarred stuff.

This takes about 5 minutes. There is no such thing as "good pre made sofrito." Have the ingredients on hand and make it yourself. Make lots and freeze.

When I was in PR on vacation i say a pre made fresh sofrito for sale in the stores. I would think if it was not good that Puerto Rican's would not purcase it. Can not remember the brand.

If you're in a big city with a large Puerto Rican population, you might be able to find a market where someone makes this fresh everyday. Anywhere else, though and I think you're out of luck. Why don't you post this query on your regional board? You might have better luck.

Goya makes one -- if your local store carries Goya products, odds are sofrito is there.
