Is Campos still in business?

When I lived in LA 20-25 years ago I used to love Campos burritos. There beans were just sooo delicious. . .as everything else they prepared. I will be arriving in LA soon again to visit. Are they still in business and/or is there somewhere else that can compare to that bean burrito that lingers in my memory? Thanks in advance.

  1. Campos is still going strong on the west side of LA, I believe all their locations are west of LaCienega.

    1. They're definitely in business but some of the satellite locations can really vary in quality and cleanliness. I recommend going to the original at Pico and 20th, which has the original turkey tacos and the burritos taste the same as ever.

Oh man, Campos. Major memories there. For awhile, when I was going to UCLA, I shared an apt. with some friends around Pico and Cloverfield. Campos was a frequent dinner spot, along with El Indio, up the street. My mouth still waters when I think about the turkey tacos and bean, cheese, lettuce and avocado burritos. I'm going to be in L.A. for a day next month, on the Westside, and I'm totally looking forward to "fine dining" at Campos!

Yes, it's still the same. I've been eating at the original location, 20th & Pico, since 1973, back when it was called Las Palmas. The turkey tacos and the bean, cheese, lettuce and avocado burritos are definitely the items to get. There was an 11-year period where I lived in Berkeley, and every trip home to visit the family, my first stop would be Campos.
