Well, I tried this place once again after a long hiatus. Had to get a bit o' Q after seeing Pirates of the Caribbean at the Hastings, ya see. Yar! Well, I made the mistake of asking for the all you can eat beef ribs. Not only did they turn out not to be all you can eat (kitchen was closing, last call, dammit), the ribs were nearly all fat. After a few, my guts felt a bit queasy from all the fat that wasn't dripping down my fingers and wrists. Had to have a bit of bread (out of everything but Wonder white!) just to sop up some of it. It was a four Mylanta night! Yeesh. What a mistake. To be fair, I have had their pork ribs in the past (always dry, Mad Dog on the side) and they've been fair, but never equal to Zeke's.

I've eaten at Robin's before (had the pork ribs, though.) Good, not great. Not sure what's better in that immediate area.

Sounds like part of your problem was arriving just before closing. Maybe you got the pieces they were passing over all day long?

We should compile a list of chowhound commandments: No sushi on Sunday, no 'cue after 9pm, etc.

Why is that our problem? We didn't know that. So why didn't the waitress tell us that before we ordered all-you-can-eat and she had already brought the first round? Had we known, we would have made different choices, but we were stuck at that point, and she just didn't give a damn.

No responsible restaurant should do such a thing to any, much less a regular, customer. And now they have four less regulars to deal with, because we won't be returning, and won't be recommending this place to any others. It'll be Zeke's from here on out for us for Q.

We have had the same experience at Zeke's as you had at Robins. Just plain bad Q! Plus the bill at Zeke's was so outrageous it made it worse.
Thanks for the report on Robins. I think we will pass on trying it!
