Cooking Classes in Oahu or Maui

sandralynn Aug 19, 2008 06:42 AM

I will be traveling to Oahu and Maui next summer (ok I am a planner) and would like to take a local cooking class or two. I don't know if any cooking shops or restaurants have one. I am looking for a one session class. Any recommendations will be appreciate.

I can't personally recommend this organization as I haven't personally tried it yet, but they do feature some well respected local chefs for their classes; I noticed they haven't posted dates for '09, but might be worth a call. Enjoy your trip to Hawaii!!

check the websites for the newspapers - Honolulu Star Bulletin and Honolulu Advertiser - they both do food sections on Wednesdays, and list events, markets, classes, etc.

Definitely check out the non-credit cooking classes at KCC (Kapiolani Community College, right next to Diamond Head). They don't have the listing for next summer, but you can get a preview here: http://programs.kcc.hawaii.edu/~conti...

just want to second the KCC classes. Lots of variety and excellent instruction, each instructor with their own personality.

It's good you are a planner, Sandra Lynn, because the classes fill up FAST. so check in next spring for the summer schedule and call.
