Dinner in Savannah

I have a weekend in Savannah coming up in September. Staying at the Hyatt and would like to stay down in the historic area. No Paula Dean restaurants, please! Nice wiine list, entrees in $20-30 range. Any suggestions?

Dinner has turned into a group event, and for one of the nights we decided on Olde Pink House. I will try one of the other recs on our other free evening.

We have loved Sapphire Grill both times we ate there. We did the tasting menu and found the wines really fun.

We had a great meal at the Sapphire Grill also, the last time we were in town. Try the salt course, it was really good.
We also had a very good meal at the restaurant at the Mansion on Forsyth Park, though I preferred Sapphire Grill.

Local 1110 & bistro 45 are 2 of my favorites along with George's out on Tybee.

I had a great meal recently at the Olde Pink House, which would be very close to where you are staying. It is one block off Bay right across from River Street/Factor's Walk. I am pretty sure that the entree prices are in that price range.

Do not be put off by the name Alligator Soul is fantastic.

All entrees on Aligator Soul are over $30 which makes it rather expensive in the Sav market & above the OP's price point.

How is the bar at Alligator Soul for dining? I saw some reviews that said the new bar menu is terrific but what's the atmosphere like? Loud?
