It's been a LONG time since I've been there, but I remember them making VERY good sandwiches. East Haven is the kind of town where things never change much, so I'd say give them a try.

Not the original owners. The owners of Antonio's Restaurant next door are opening the new business. Supposedly will do their catering out of the market location. Have no idea how the food will taste. We will all have to try it once it opens.

The market has been transformed and reborn. The Butternut Squash Bisque is to die for! It's clean, uncluttered and carries a wonderful selection of products and heat and serve foods. The sandwiches are great too. Always samples for tasting as you wait. Glass enclosed pasta making room for your entertainment and edification. A great addition to the west end of East Haven. Welcome Back!

Stopped by today to pick up some lunch for the crew at my job and they were opened. Absolutely beautiful inside. Foods-to-go to die for. Panini's are amazing...I ordered a grilled nutella, banana, ricotta and honey panini for someone at work and it was delicious. Who the hell else in town makes this?! Similar in style to Liuzzi's except cleaner, BETTER, MUCH BETTER FOOD and product line leaning more towards goumet instead of the usual BArilla pasta and Napoli jarred antipasti crap. Great area behind a glass wall where it looks like someone was making fresh pasta. Deli selection looks like all Boars Head products with the exception of the Parma Proscuito and some other cured meats. Dessert case added about 10 lbs on me. Cheese case was respectable with some great Italian brie style cheeses, ex: La Tur, Rochetta, etc. I asked if they could order something different from what they had available and the answer was absolutely. Good answer! Good artisanal bread selection instead of the Apicelli and Lupi Stop& Shop selection. I could go on and on. It looks like they spent a ton of money to clean the place up and add a flare of class. Italian music was playing in the background. Also, picked up a 4 pack of Sopranos CHianti soda. Nice touch. Spoke to one of, I'm assuming, managers and he informed me that new products will be added, cheeses expanded as soon as they get rolling. Definitely worth checking out and grabbing something to eat. Everyone at work was pleased with their meals, which was a good sign. I'm glad that we finally have a market on this side of the Q bridge that isn't overpriced on their food. Not only that, but the food looks good and has actual flavor, unlike the rest of the "guinzo" markets with their over garlicked and oregano meals. Good luck and thanks to these guys for saving me gas money.
