Sounds like a fun lunch. What's your budget, and any preferred cuisine? Are you interested in lunch, brunch, or either one?

Lunch on a Saturday, but brunch for Sunday also possibility.
Budget: moderate up to 50pp plus wine/beer
      Cuisine: American/Italian/Asian

Any chance you would consider contemporary French cuisine? If so, Fleur de Sel would be, in my view, the perfect place for your Saturday lunch rendez-vous.

Mmmm, hmmmm, a cozy lunch with an old flame. Sounds like you want stealth romantic. Try Perry St and then go walking on the Hudson River Parkway. Great lunch, sophisticated atmosphere, etc.

Hello! Stealthy is not the aim, just looking for a place not too trendy or noisy, we have lots to catch up on. Can you recommend also a good American food/beer place mid to downtown, and also a cozy trattoria type place in Little Italy?

You could go to Lupa for Italian on that budget - cozy if you sit in the back room. Excellent Italian food. They are on open table, and often hard to get a reservation, but I usually call on Saturday morning and have no problem getting a reservation for two that day for lunch.

My two suggestions would be Cafe Cluny or Ino : )
