Lynn-lato! Sweet Tea Vodka Article

Could have knocked me over w/ a feather when I read it. Is it true? Is it good?

I didn't care for it at all. When it was mixed-with sprite or club soda, can't remember-it tasted like instant/bottled Nestea. I took a couple of sips and then returned it to the bartender to make me something else.

If you're talking about the Firefly sweet tea vodka, it's great! Last time I was in Charleston I bought a bottle to bring home. I don't think it lasted a week (I had help in drinking it, I promise). Until they start selling it in other states, it will just be another great reason to go back to Charleston...

I think they can get it in nyc (I saw it mentioned on another thread). However, it's still hit or miss b/c they are a small operation and the demand is overwhelming them. Liquor stores no sooner get it in that it's sold out (even in SC). I'm thrilled for the guys though - good for them.

I'm in Hilton Head this week and all the liquor stores are sold out here and we're just a stones throw from the distillery. Crazy!

I ask you - Can Kudzu Tequila be far off? What about Okra Gin?
Or better yet Cotton Gin HAHAHA
I'm just a bit miffed that I didn't think of it. Man, what a great idea. It's a natural.

I know, right? Sometimes sweet tea makes my teeth hurt but the vodka should numb the pain.

Exactly! To be honest, the sweet tea vodka isn't sweet at all. Which is why it appeals to my husband, who is an unsweetened tea kind o' guy.

Firefly has a muscadine vodka (it's actually used in the sweet tea vodka too, I think). And, according to their website, they have coming soon a coffee vodka, peach vodka and a hand-crafted vodka. My question is coffee vodka, really?

Coffee sounds great to me. Vodka is my spirit of choice. My favorite Vodka is - Van Gogh's and they have some amazing flavors like -Double Espresso a caffeinated, espresso−infused vodka, Acai−Blueberry, Banana , Dutch Chocolate, Pineapple, Pomegranate and Wild Appel vodkas. Van Gogh also produces Vanilla, Raspberry, Oranje, Citroen, Coconut, Melon, Mango, Black Cherry, Mojito Mint and the classic 80−proof Vodka. When the spirit moves you this is the stuff to rock out with. Tons of cocktail possibilities. As for the Godfather on the rocks is the way to go. Simple is often best

Ha! You guys are crackin' me up. It is good and it's on sale at Southern Spirits for $16.99/bottle. It normally retails for $20 bucks. Go get u some, girl and try it. I'm not big on mixed drinks, but my husband is a fan. I'm more of wino, myself.

          Big ups to GFL!

I haven't yet tried the stuff, but I've heard people raving about it the last few months...

                  Hi:

We've moved this thread to the Food Media and News board as it seemed to be more about the article than the drink. If you want to discuss the drink, please do so on the thread linked to by quazi.

                  Thanks!
