Heirloom Tomatoes in Tucson, AZ
Most of the nation is enjoying the height of heirloom tomato season. I know it's too hot to grow them here in summer, but where can I buy them? I've found a few at Safeway. AJ's has only scattered pre-wrapped packages of them. Any ideas?? Thanks.

I'm not sure if you are ever in PHX but I know that The Farm @ South Mountain (32nd st between Baseline & Southern...closer to Southern on the West side) sells them but they do not open for another 3 weeks. Very reasonably priced as well if you are not in PHX maybe check the website for them. Also the Botanical Gardens sells them as well but again...in PHX

Also check Sunflower. And have you checked the farmer's markets? Tomatoes usually don't mind heat much and growers from the surrounding area (Willcox, Sierra Vista, Nogales) may be at higher elevations with cooler temps, if the specific tomatoes you're looking for require those conditions.
