Restaurants near Sofitel LA

We will have two nights at the Sofitel LA at the end of September and are looking for good restaurants, steak, fish, chicken within walking distance of the hotel. I had thought of making a reservation at the Ivy but see the majority of comments are not good.

Any suggestions?

Lucques and Comme Ca or maybe even Bastide.

Lots of good stuff right there: Grace, AOC, Hatfield's, Pastis.

Looks like the OP said "walking distance", which probably means <1 mi. (from La Cienega/Beverly) I agree those four are great options, but Grace/Hatfield's are not really walking distance.

There are a few popular places in a row along W. 3rd St. right adjacent to Cedars-Sinai, but I haven't been to any ones worth recommending (I'm sure others have though). I'd skip anything in the Beverly Ctr.

Grace/Hatfield's are about a mile and a half. I guess it depends on the person.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Sona or Simon LA (which is in the Sofitel Hotel). For a more casual place, perhaps try Taste. For Italian, Dominick's or Locanda Veneta (fancier of the 2) are both in walking distance.

          Definitely AVOID the Ivy.

For breakfast and quick lunches, I'd go with Jan's Restaurant. It's a traditional coffee shop but higher quality than say Denny's.
