Stone Hearth Pizza coming to Porter Sq

Walking by the diMio space on Mass Ave near Porter today and noticed signs for Stone Hearth Pizza and a menu in the window. Hard to tell how imminent an opening is, but it seems to be coming soon. The menu highlights local ingredients and the website from their other locations seems promising: http://www.stonehearthpizza.com/ Hopefully this will be a good addition to the neighborhood; I was not a fan of diMio, so I'm glad to see the change.

  1. I was never a fan of diMio either, but I have to say, I'm not a fan of Stone Hearth, either. We live in Belmont and tried it a few times when it first opened, and neither of us was impressed. Maybe it's changed? Maybe I'm ordering the wrong things (though I can't remember what)? I love the concept but I think the execution comes up just ordinary - not anything very spectacular.

    1. We go to the Stone Hearth in Needham pretty often...it's not that it's the best pizza ever or anything, but we really like thin crust pizza, which this certainly is, and the toppings are interesting and a little different. They have good salads, too, and fun special pizzas and salads, and it's good for kids as well as grownups. We like it. YMMV.
