Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Quebec (including Montreal)

Nice, small budget restaurants in or near Montreal ?

We love to eat out, brunch, lunch , dinner, but our budget is small. Can you recommend us fine food + nice atmosphere, small budget restaurants ?

We LIVE In Montreal , we seek to expand our database of NICE but inexpensive places to eat out.

our budget
DINNER , under 25 $ for table d'hote.
LUNCH, BRUNCH , under 16$

Better if we can bring our own wine, better if there is a terrace.

We seek places that offer a combination of food and atmosphere.

For only tasty/ good quality food, we cook our own.

Can you contribute to our knowledge of "special places" in or near Montreal ?

If you'd like more recs after reading through those threads, feel free to post back with a few more specifics (preferred neighbourhood, how far willing to travel, type of cuisine, what qualifies as "small budget" in your book, etc.) and I'm sure you'll get more suggestions.

      Have a wonderful trip!

One place I go to that fits the bill of what you asked is Bistro Europa 1620, rue Sherbrooke Ouest , great schnitzel, cabbage rolls, as well as dinner salads and a few pastas, it has more of a homey atmosphere than glitzy, in a european way, also has an outdoor seating area.
