HELP...Tokyo on Tuesday...Kyoto Friday...no clue.

Hello All:

This is my first posting on Chowhound and I need some help. It is my 40th Bday and my parents and brother are meeting me in Tokyo and Kyoto. My father has not been well and walking more then 5 or 6 avenue blocks in one direction is all he can do. We are planning on using taxi's and trains for this trip.

I need help with choosing Japanese restaurants in Tokyo....Wed, Thurs nights......That are NOT more then $50 per person and not too far from Ebisu as we are staying at the Westin. We have monetary and physical limitations and I am trying to balance between location and food and where better to come then Chowhound? Sushi is fine as is cooked food or noodles etc.

Kyoto will be for three nights Friday, Saturday and Sunday and any recommendations there will also be appreciated.

Thanking you all in advance,

Traveler

tokyo dinner: cardenas chinois (cheap asian fusion), sonamu (korean stews), kurobuta (grilled pork), or toriyoshi (yakitori and wine) in nishi-azabu, or JYU (near ebisu station) for good quality, cheap Izakaya

tokyo lunch: get recommendations for ramen, go to DEPACHIKA in mitsukoshi department store and get bentos or assortments of everything under the sun

kyoto dinner: girogiro www.guiloguilo.com , easily my favorite restaurant in japan based on quality of food, service, atmosphere and reasonable price.

Like many others you show up and ask where are the good places to eat, why not give back a little something to the board and tell us what happened?

There is lots of good info on Bento.com, check the Ebisu area. It'll help narrow down your choices in your area.
