lunch in Saint-Malo

After reading all about the overpriced and underrated food in Mt-St-Michel, I'm electing to spend the second of my two days in the area in St-Malo. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good lunch there? I'm currently in Montparnasse where Breton crepes are everywhere, so I'll be looking for something other than a creperie. Also, I won't have a car.

I've read good things about Le Chalut for seafood... Any other high quality, interesting places, or local cuisine that shouldn't be missed?? Thanks!

  1. I'm sorry I don't have more to offer, but when I went I was looking for creperies, and found a couple of nice enough ones. The rest of the food places in town looked kind of touristy, but maybe they're better than they look. Its a small place, so a walk around will be fun, and you can look at menus then (although of course menus don't really tell you much about quality!).
