Castup and Mustard in Manchester
I'm not sure if anyone's brought this up yet, but I just stopped at Catsup and Mustard with my friend the other night, and I was really impressed!
I ordered the barbecue-style burger (fried onions, bbq sauce, bacon, cheddar) and I LOVED it. The best part was that the burger itself is loosely packed so its VERY tender and juicy. I felt as though all of the toppings complimented the meat and it was just plain good.
You get vinegar slaw, a sweet gherkin, and another pickle on the side with every burger and I liked all 3. The slaw was tangy enough to cut through the richness of the beef, but not too acidic or sweet like most slaws.
Service and price were both pretty good, my meal was under 8 dollars and I felt pretty full afterwards! Plus, it looked like they have live music sometimes.
I'd give it a try :)
Went last week with a few friends and everyone enjoyed it. 2 people had the chipotle burger in the wrap, which we were skeptical about, but turns out it was really a good combo, except there was not much chipotle flavor. Fry orders are very big so next time we would probably split, all 4 of us had our own...Also had the boneless chicken fingers to start and they were good, nice flavor. The one thing I liked is that they don't crowd the tables together like so many other places do, you can actually hear and talk to the people at your table...we will be back, also need to check out Plan B in Glastonbury....
It's good. Was there for happy hour drinks and apps this week. I was impressed with the fries -- seems like they're double-dipping them for perfect crisp outside and fluffy starch inside. Didn't stay for a burger due to other commitments. The burgers looked delicious, though.
On the way out, noticed the server had charged regular price for my happy hour beer. When I got home, I sent them an email about it and Tyler (service manager, I expect) was very gracious in his reply, offered to buy me a beer next time I go. I'm eager to go back.
