Perigee Lately??

I know that Perigee has changed it's Chef and it's look , as far as the open kitchen concept is gone. I was wondering has anyone been lately and how is the food now?? I know before Perigee always had rave reviews. Thanks

  1. I haven't, but if anyone can think of another new, young chef so uniformly well-reviewed I'd love to hear about them.

      Not sure about the uniform - all those linked come from the Perigee website - who presumably pick only the favourable ones. However - a fair point on finding a young chef (in Toronto) that has a portfolio of better reviews.
      So where are the 'young turks' in Toronto?

        Having a habit of reading all restaurant reviews online every week I can tell you I personally have seen nothing but good news about the new chef.

    2. I didn't have a chance to try it under Pat Riley so I can't say how it compares. I went to Perigee in late June and tried the 9 course tasting menu under Chris Brown and thought each course was very well done. I would definitely recommend going.

        I went a couple a months ago and it has held up well (I also went when it first opened). I do miss the open kitchen and talking to the head chef though. Now it's cooking under glass... atmosphere is still great and the food stupendous. Great wine list.
