<content>In the new F&amp;W. Robert Parker wrote that there "at least a dozen top restaurants" in Baltimore. I thought it would be fun to try and identify what they were. Parker did not identify "top" but here are some factors to think about. 1. Interesting food. I think this lets out the steak house chains. 2. Located near I-695. 3. Some ambience. To me, this lets out Samos and Helmand, altho I love them dearly.

Here are my guesses and preferences, in no particular order

Charleston
Cinghiale
Prime Rib (OK its a steak house, but its a classic)
Oregon Grille
Bicycle
Salt
Linwood's
Black Olive
Bocaccio
Woodberry Kitchen
Chameleon (short on ambience, but it's so good)
Tersiguel's (I know Ellicott City is probably part of DC now, but it's a great place)

Close calls--Peter's Inn and Petit Louis. Also, the Milton Inn is near Parker so I imagine he eats there, but it has a new chef and menu since i was there last, many years ago, so I'll pass on it.

Thoughts of others?
