Hi- I will be in Barcelona this Monday for one night and am looking for something great and fun if possible on a Monday. Price is not important....but Mondays seem slim pickings...Thanks!

Cerveseria Catalana is the best tapas place I've found in my many trips to BCN.

Do Gresca, one of the most promising bistronomique restaurants...

You should have no problem finding a restaurant in Barcelona for Monday night. This goes for the high end places such as Abac, Alkimia, Drolma. Comerc24 to more moderate places such as Sauc, L'Olive, Cometacinc. Cafe de L'Academia. Most tapas/pinxtos places such as Paca Meralgo, Taktika Berrie, Tapac24, Cerverneria Catalana are open Mondays. One exception is in Barcelonetta where most places are closed Mondays. Search this board for writeups on the above places..

I'm afraid that C24 is not open on Monday at all. Hotel restaurants should be OK (Moo, Abac, etc) but many of the non-hotel restaurants are closed Sunday and Monday.

That is so exciting that you will be in Barcelona. Actually, you're in luck, Monday was my favorite night when studying there this past semester.
There are adjoining bars that are in Placa Reial, right off of La Rambla. Rambla is the street where the famous market, La Boqueria, is on. Anyway, the bar is called Jamboree. If you google "Mas i Mas" you can find it - I believe they are all owned or run by Mas i Mas. At Jamboree on Monday nights there is a sort of amateur night where random jazz musicians come and collaborate. Check the site to see what time, but it is definitely worth checking out. The couple times I went there were fabulous musicians from all over Europe who just improvised for a couple hours. Afterward it turns into a dance club.
If jazz isn't your thing, you can go to the bar that is connected to Jamboree and see a flamenco show - it is intense and very legit. I believe they are about every 30 min starting at 8pm.
Taxistas should know where Placa Reial is, but it's not too hard to find it walking. Be careful around Ramblas at night, and have fun!
