Saw this in the spot today.
Beginning Monday through Aug. 24, participating restaurants will offer $5 and $8 lunch specials and $15 dinner specials to show off what downtown has to offer.

Participating restaurants include:

Baxter's Interurban Grill, 717 S. Houston Ave.

Billy's on the Square, 424 S. Main St.

Boston Avenue Grille, 15 E. Fifth St.

Caz's Chowhouse, 18 E. Brady St.

El Guapo's Cantina, 332 E. First St.

Elote Cafe, 514 S. Boston Ave.

Grand Selections, 309 S. Main St.

Hopscotch Deli, 601 S. Boulder Ave.

McNellie's, 409 E. First St.

New Atlas Grill, 415 S. Boston Ave.

Quizno's, 15 W. Fifth St.

Teri's Coney Island, 3 E. Fifth St.

Topeca Coffee, 115 W. Fifth St.

White Rabbit Deli, 224 N. Main St.
The link also hooks you up to some of their recommendations.
So .... after working for years in downtown... hard to entice me back for dinner at night, but the prices are pretty right. Anyone else going to give it a try?

It doesn't take much to lure me to El Guapo. I'll be there for lunch tomorrow.

I will definitely check it out. Go to some places that I have never been.

Next week there is an even better promotion, where upscale restaurants all over the city offer $13 lunch and $30 dinner. It starts on Sept 7, 2008.
